Train is approaching the landmark at Tarana. (Shortly after this the train crosses the Tarana Gemalla Road). The train has arrived on the down main at Tarana, presumably to be marshalled onto a train heading for Lithgow. (Steve Prestons suggests..." the goods may have been routed onto the down main at Tarana to allow easy loading/unloading of any items onto the manned platform/office" This is confirmed by Richard Webb's recollections from the period.
POSTSCRIPT from Steve Preston -
"Loco 4917 pictured in the Winch collection continues to provide service today as KL82 being a member of the CFCLA loco fleet. It is unlikely that any of the other vehicles in the consist still exist and certainly wouldn’t be in revenue service today."
