Work Report 4th/11th August 2007 (Page 2)

The second week long Fettlers Camp took place on the above dates. The target was to lay track from "Garbage Tip" Road to Rutters Ridge Road and the fettlers were successful in achieving that and a little more.

The track work is now half way to Oberon from Hazelgrove. There are some areas of track we have to revisit where boggy ground held us back. Once again it was an extremely well organised and productive project. The Track Manager and the Systems Manager did an outstanding job and the varying volunteers battled along to jack up the line, remove old sleepers then hand lay and dog spike the "new" second hand sleepers.

We could do with some more help so if you are able bodied and can lend a hand, even if only for a few days, the next week long camp runs from 22nd to 29th September. Ring Bob Conners on 6336 1211 to arrange accommodation

Afternoon tea is always welcome for workers and visitors. At last! We reach Rutters Ridge Road, the half way point. The crew start on laying sleepers down the straight into Oberon.
